My Reflection

I was very nervous throughout the whole genius hour process. Everyday that I had set aside to work on my project did not follow through. It seemed as though something else (such as other homework or a social event) came up. Slowly but surely I was running out of time to complete my project. This was when I really started to panic and I found myself rushing to finish it. I was hoping to have completed my project by the middle of November however I was not finished until a month later. I do know for a fact that I could have finished my project on time. It was all a matter of time management, which is something that I am not too good at.
One way that I am planning on improving this matter is by working more efficiently when I get the opportunity. Throughout this project I always had an attitude towards it because I knew I had a lot of time. This caused me to procrastinate and to not work as hard as I know I could have. I was easily distracted and would work at a slow, causal pace. However, eventually I did not have as much time as I had before and this is when my work habits changed. I started getting a lot more work done in way shorter periods of time. If I had this same drive and motivation throughout the whole process I know that I would have finished when I was hoping to.
Overall I was very pleased with my presentation. I feel that I provided all of the information I was hoping too and even more. Although I do know that there is always room for improvement and I know what I need to do to make these improvements.

Feedback

I asked two of my classmates as well as one of my friends outside of class to provide me with feedback in order to make some improvements before my project was complete. They all thought that it was well done and they were all excited to see the final product. However I noticed that they all gave me the same suggestion and that was to use more examples other than just Demi Lovato. One of my peers suggested to use a personal example as well. Automatically I thought that that was an excellent idea and I knew exactly what I was going to do. I decided to speak to my class about a friend of mine who had dealt with basically everything that I was going to discuss in my project. I knew that this would not only make it more interesting but it would also prove to the class that everything I was going to say does occur and that it was not just random facts that I found on the internet. I was very pleased with the feedback that I received and I know that it definitely allowed me to have a more powerful presentation.
